The fund aims at providing exposure to the BNP Paribas Equity World Global Goals Strategy while securing 90% of the highest NAV (Net Asset Value) achieved during the year.
The THEAM Quant Funds Equity Global SDG Champions Protection 90% fund aims to increase the value of its assets over the medium term by being exposed to a dynamic basket of equities listed on global developed markets, the components of which are chosen using a systematic selection method based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria; contribution to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs); and companies’ financial robustness.
The fund aims to provide partial and variable exposure to the Equity Global Goals strategy while securing, during a given 12-month period, 90% of the highest NAV reached since the last business day of the previous year.
The monthly selection of equities using the Equity World Global Goals Strategy is made using the following approach:
- Companies involved in controversial activities (armament, tobacco, coal, etc.) are excluded, on the basis of their Moody’s ESG Solutions and/or BNP Paribas Asset Management ESG scores;
- Companies are also filtered using a best-in-class approach, focussing on metrics such as profitability, prospects and valuation. Portfolio selection is also subject to risk-control and sectoral/geographical diversification;
- The final portfolio must satisfy well defined ESG and financial robustness criteria while constituting an optimized proportion of SDG Champions, as assessed through Moody’s ESG Solutions Equitics©, a proprietary methodology.
The fund also features a protection mechanism which secures 90% of the highest NAV reached during a given 12-month period – this protection level resets yearly at 90% of the last valuation recorded for the fund.
