Europe Carbon Offset Plan Fund Enhances its Investment Process on 2nd Anniversary

THEAM Quant Europe Climate Carbon Offset Plan, our European carbon offset fund, who’s current aim is to generate returns from the exposure to listed companies with robust ESG standards and a focus on the ones with the strongest Energy Transition strategy, has enhanced its methodology.

Furthermore, the THEAM Quant – Europe Carbon Offset Plan fund celebrated its 2 years, demonstrating a solid performance since its inception and, more specifically, a strong performance for the month of February too.

Strategy reminder

  • Filters companies based on their ESG standards, Energy Transition score and now also on their financial outlook.
  • Compared to the initial investment universe, the underlying strategy Europe Climate Care should have a carbon footprint reduced by at least 50% and the highest Energy Transition score possible, now at least 10% higher than the benchmark portfolio1, while respecting the other portfolio criteria (such as liquidity; sector diversification close to benchmark). The maximum weight of each company, previously capped at 1%, is now the maximum between 1% and the market cap weight of the company.
  • The Fund aims to offset the remaining carbon footprint generated by the underlying strategy, through the use of “VER” (Verified Emission Reduction) certificates linked to the Kasigau REDD+ Project of Wildlife Works.
